
An 8 - week reo Māori course
for Kaiako working in early childhood settings
When: Thursday evenings 6.30 – 8pm

Fee: $180 p/person - including supper and resource booklet












This course provides an introduction to te reo Māori using experiential and interactive learning methods. Over the 8 weeks you will build your confidence and ability to use te reo in a range of early childhood contexts. Each week there will be practical things for you to take home and practice with the tamariki in your centre.

Whakatauki
Pronounciation
Basic sentence structure
Common phrases for ECE context

Kiri Olds
Raised in Pito-one, Kiri Olds is passionate about fostering te reo me ōna tikanga. Educated in a full immersion primary school she had the privilege of growing up around te Ao Māori and extended her knowledge through her university studies. A Graduate from Victoria University in 2015 with a BA in Te Reo Māori, Māori Studies, and Environmental Studies she has natural skills in communication, organisation and a strong sense of community. She has tutored te reo at University, taught community Māori classes and facilitated Treaty of Waitangi workshops for Early Childhood Teachers.
